Seychelles delegation attend the 23rd edition of the Creole Festival Rodrigues
In the cadre of the existing co-operation between Seychelles and Rodrigues, Secretary General Mr. David André and senior officials from the Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and the Arts were invited to attend the 23rd edition of the Creole Festival Rodrigues as from 7 -11 December 2022, being celebrated under the theme “Kreolite siman nou linite”.

The Seychelles delegation attended the official opening ceremony on Wednesday 7th December “lanwit Sega tambour”.
On Thursday 8th December Mr. André and the officials from the Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and the Arts led a forum of discussions on cultural values and sharing, and experience in the implementation of cultural policies at different levels.
During the Creole Festival Mr. André met with Deputy Chief Commissoner Mr. Franceau Grandcourt, and Interim Commissioner for Art and Culture Mr. Jean Alain Wong So, who is also the Commissioner for Tourism, for a working session to discuss renewed avenues for cultural exchange between the Culture Institute and its counterpart, the Commission for Art and Culture.
Before attending the Creole Festival Rodrigues, the Secretary General and senior executives of the Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and the Arts also
made a courtesy call on the Ministry of Arts and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Mauritius on Tuesday 6 the December 2022. The aim of the courtesy call was to officially introduce the new Seychelles National Institute for Culture Heritage and the Arts, as well as to finalize the cultural exchange memorandum of understanding which entails various avenues for cultural exchange, sharing of expertise, and lessons learnt on the promotion and development of Arts and Culture between Mauritius, Rodrigues and Seychelles.
The Seychelles delegation met with senior officials of the Mauritian’s Ministry , which included the acting Permanent Secretary Mrs. Indira Pudaruth Ruchaia.
Secretary General David André also met with the Minister for Arts and Cultural Heritage of Mauritius, Hon. Mr. Avinash Teeluck, and they both expressed their commitment to reinforce the collaboration between their institutions.
