Seychelles National Arts and Crafts Council
Functions of Seychelles National Arts and Crafts Council:
The Seychelles National Arts and Crafts Council is the institution responsible for the development of the arts and crafts in Seychelles with the following functions:
(a) to organize, coordinate and implement programs relating to the development of the arts and crafts in Seychelles;
(b) to provide training for the certification of instructors and students in the performing arts;
(b) to encourage the continuous active participation and foster a spirit of cooperation amongst artists and artisans;
(c) to encourage best practices through the organisation of seminars, workshops and exchanges for the attainment of excellence in the arts and crafts;
(d) to foster the appreciation and awareness of the public of the value and importance of the arts and crafts;
(e) to collaborate with and support arts and crafts associations with the view to achieve their objectives;
(f) to enter into corporation and maintain relations with international organisations and institutes, likely to grant, financial, material or technical assistance for the development of the arts and crafts;
(j) to collaborate with district authorities with the aim of bringing arts and crafts programs in the community;
(k) facilitate access to funding to difference grants scheme available for the development of arts and crafts in Seychelles; and
(l) undertake such other activities as may be prescribed by regulations.
