SFCPO FUNCTIONS
The Seychelles Film Classification and Permit Office, which was formally called Film Censorship Unit, after that Film Unit and recently the Seychelles Film Classification and Permit Office, the office has been in existence since 1979-1980. The Seychelles Film Classification and Permit Office is the Executive arm of the Seychelles Film Classification Board.
Mandate
In the Seychelles, all video materials to be rented or exhibited are submitted to the Seychelles Film Classification and Permit Office, for classification (rating). Basically, all films are viewed and then rated. The process takes about a week. Classification stickers of (Sr25/-) are place on the video material before they are rented out to the general public or exhibitor. The Seychelles Film Classification and Permit Office also issues filming permit for people wanting to film in Seychelles.

U Universal – All public
Pg-12 Parental Guidance
Pg13 Parental Guidance – strictly advice parents to accompany child
12 12 years and over
15 15 years and over
18 18 years and over
18X Strictly Adult
