Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta is back!
Praslinois and visitors to the island will soon enjoy the flavours, sights and sounds of Praslin through the much-loved festival known as Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta.
Preparations are underway and a committee has been set up to organise the three-day event.
The Creative Seychelles Agency within the Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and the Arts, has partnered with other agencies and the Praslin community to ensure the success of the event.
Partners on board include the National Arts and Crafts Council (NACC), National Sports Council, the Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association, Praslin Artists Federation (PArFe), Enterprise Seychelles Agency and the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs through the two district administration offices.
The two members of the National Assembly of the districts on Praslin – Churchill Gill and Wavel Woodcock – the senior liaison officer for Praslin Vincent Cedras and Farida Camille are also members of the organising committee.
Other key agencies such as the Police Force, Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Agency and Public Health Authority.
The upcoming Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta will be held from September 30 to October 2, 2022, and a range of activities will be organised on the island for both locals and tourists.
Activities will start on September 30, with a ‘barman competition’ at Mabuya Beach Restaurant, Anse Lazio, live entertainment at Amitié, and a tourism ball at Les Lauriers Hotel.
The launch of this year’s Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta will be held at Chill Out Tapas Lounge Bar on October 1, followed by the culinary competition at the same venue.
Later during the day, an arts exhibition being organised by NACC and PArFe will be officially opened at the Berjaya Praslin Beach Hotel lobby.
Entertainment by top and promising Praslin artists and a moutya soirée will also be on the three-day programme.
The Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta will end on October 2, with a family fun day, sports activities including a fun run and a prize- giving ceremony to reward those who took part in the various competitions.
